SEASIDE, Calif. (Tuesday, August 9, 2022) – Monterey Bay Football Club (Monterey Bay F.C.) goalkeeper Antony Siaha has been nominated for USL Championship’s Fans’ Choice Save of the Week for Week 22. The fans now have the opportunity to vote for the next three days for the save that they think was the best in Week 22.
Siaha’s nomination comes from an impressive point-blank save in the 56th minute of the match off a shot from eight yards out by El Paso Locomotive FC forward Luis Solignac. Locomotive FC defender Andrew Fox hammered a ball on frame that was stopped by his teammate Solignac, who was all alone just outside the top of the six-yard box. With Siaha moving toward the right post in anticipation of Fox’s shot making its way through, Solignac turned and flicked the ball with his right foot toward the inside of the left post, but Siaha recovered brilliantly in the other direction to make the diving save.
