Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT as the Crisp-and-Kelp look to secure an important three points away from home.
Monterey Bay enters the contest following last weekend’s matchup against New Mexico United at Cardinale Stadium. With the Western Conference playoff race entering an important stretch, the Crisp-and-Kelp will look to respond on the road and pick up valuable points against a familiar opponent.
Oakland returns home following a 1-0 road defeat to El Paso Locomotive FC at Southwest University Park. Roots pushed for an equalizer throughout the second half but were unable to find a breakthrough. Now back at the Oakland Coliseum following consecutive matches on the road, Oakland will look to return to winning ways in front of its home supporters.
Saturday’s contest adds another chapter to the growing Northern California rivalry between the two clubs. Saturday’s match marks the third meeting between Monterey Bay FC and Oakland Roots SC across all competitions in 2026. Oakland earned a 1-0 victory at Cardinale Stadium in the USL Championship season opener on March 7 before the sides met again in the Prinx Tires USL Cup on April 25, when Monterey Bay prevailed in a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw.
The Crisp-and-Kelp will now make their first trip to the Oakland Coliseum this season looking to earn their first league victory over Roots in 2026.
