Defender Kai Greene
On the match:
“It was a crucial three points, especially against this side Orange County SC. That was a pivotal game for us. We’re moving up the ladder into ninth place. Rio Grande Valley FC won their game as well tonight, so it was even more important that we won our game. Now we have the momentum going into Las Vegas.”
On making noise in the Western Conference playoff race:
“It’s in our destiny right now, we control our own destiny. We just have to win. Especially all of our games at home, we have to take care of them. Away against teams like Las Vegas, we need to beat those teams too. We just have to carry our momentum forward and we’ll be fine.”
On taking the season sweep against OC with two shutouts:
“That’s usually the tale when we face high scorers in the league. They don’t face defenders like us on a regular basis. I’m trying to say that as humbly as possible, but they don’t face real defenders until they see us. When they come here and face real defenders, they find out what’s up. Milan Iloski is a good player, but our defense was better.”
Midfielder Sam Gleadle
On his third goal in two matches:
“I feel good, the guys and I are starting to find some rhythm together and we’re playing really well. I’m just trying to find good spots to put myself in and find opportunities to score.”
On the importance of the result:
“It’s getting close to playoff time, and I think the West is going to be very close for that last spot. There’s a lot of teams fighting for it. Three games in a week is tough, we just played one last Saturday. So, getting our bodies right and coming here and winning again was pretty important.”
On winning 1-0:
“You always want to put a second and third goal in. I think we gave a good effort, but at some point, we have to play to win the game, even if it means holding at one nil. I think we did very well tonight.”
