MBFC2 Announces Initial Roster Ahead of Inaugural Home Opener in USL League Two
SALINAS, California (Friday, May 5, 2023) – Monterey Bay F.C. 2 has announced several roster commitments ahead of the pre-professional club’s inaugural campaign in USL League Two. As of now, the team has 17 players committed to the club going into its inaugural home opener against San Francisco City FC on May 6, with conversations ongoing to commit additional players in the near future.
Of the initial 17 players that have committed to play for MBFC2 this season so far, six will help anchor the backline: Pierce Galloway, Garrett Hayes, Raul Magos Padilla (Castroville), Sebastian Ruiz–Hurst, Alexis Sanchez (Soledad), and Gilbert Velez (Salinas). In addition, Ramiro Corrales Jr., Miguel Guerrero, Willy Miranda (Salinas), Francisco Ponce (Santa Cruz), and Hugo Vargas (Watsonville) will man the midfield.
Up top, Elias Bouhaja (Carmel), Jose Madrigal, Anthony Orendain (Watsonville), and Kevin Salto make up the forward group to start the campaign. And lastly, Jack Blickenstaff and Fabian Narez will do the shot-stopping between the pipes.
