2025 OPEN TRYOUTS
Monterey Bay Football Club’s open tryouts will take place on Saturday, January 11 and Sunday, January 12, offering local players the opportunity to be evaluated by our coaching and technical staff.
Venue: Cardinale Stadium (Turf Field)
Date: January 11-12 (Saturday & Sunday)
Registration Fee: $175 (non-refundable)
Age: 16-30 years only
Registered players will be contacted via email, by Wednesday, January 8, with individual check-in and game times for both Saturday (Jan. 11) and Sunday (Jan. 12).

Tryout Information & Format
This year’s format for the tryouts are as follows:
Registered players will participate in one, 11v11 game on Saturday, January 11 and one game on Sunday, January 12. Each game will consist of three 30 minute periods. Players are expected to be available for both of their games.
After the completion of the tryout weekend, the coaching staff will evaluate and invite selected players for the start of pre-season January 20. Any players that will be invited to pre-season training with MBFC will be notified in the days following Sunday, January 12.
No, MBFC2 will hold separate tryouts at date to be announced later.
- Photo I.D.
- Soccer apparel and personal equipment including soccer socks, shin guards, boots/cleats for turf, shorts, shirt. If you are a GK, please bring the appropriate equipment, including gloves. Please bring something to keep all of your gear together (no lockers will be provided).
- A water bottle and any food, snacks or beverages that you may need (food will not be provided).
Important Note: The weather can be extremely cold/wet this time of the year in Seaside. We recommend you bring long-sleeves and plenty of warm clothing.
Yes, MBFC’s training staff and other medical personnel will be available on the grounds.
Yes, however friends and family may only sit on the South side of the stadium. Complimentary parking is for registered participants only. Additional cars will require the purchase of a parking permit.
Eligibility
Must be between the ages of 16-30. All players must complete registration and sign the required waivers to participate.
No, an agent is not required.
Yes, you can still participate. Please notify on-site medical personnel of this or any other ailment and ensure that your inhaler and/or other medications are available nearby. MBFC encourages all participants to read all waivers thoroughly and consult a medical professional prior to participation if necessary.
Check with your school’s NCAA compliance officer and college coach prior to registering for MBFC Open Tryouts. Monterey Bay F.C. is not responsible regarding NCAA eligibility.
