Monterey Bay FC and City of Seaside Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night and Growing Partnership
Monterey Bay Football Club and the City of Seaside will bring their growing community partnership to the forefront on Saturday, September 5, when the city serves as the title sponsor of Monterey Bay FC’s Hispanic Heritage Night at Cardinale Stadium.
The 7 p.m. match against Phoenix Rising FC will mark the first time the City of Seaside has taken on the title sponsorship of a Monterey Bay FC match, creating a special opportunity to celebrate the community where the Club plays its home matches while recognizing the rich Hispanic and Latino heritage that is an important part of Seaside’s identity.
Seaside officially became a Monterey Bay FC partner in January 2026, and the partnership has continued to grow through regular collaboration, community engagement and opportunities to connect Seaside residents with the region’s professional soccer club.
“Seaside is more than the home of Cardinale Stadium. It is an important part of who we are as a Club,” said Oliver Wyss, Chairman of Monterey Bay FC. “Since we began our partnership earlier this year, we have seen firsthand how much we share a commitment to community, connection and creating opportunities for people to come together. Having the City where we play serve as the title sponsor for Hispanic Heritage Night is a great way to celebrate that partnership and the diverse community that surrounds us.”
Throughout the first months of the partnership, Monterey Bay FC and the City of Seaside have found a number of ways to support one another. The Club hosted Seaside’s annual City Managers meeting in one of its hospitality spaces at Cardinale Stadium, providing local city leaders with an opportunity to gather at the home of Monterey Bay FC.
Club representatives have also participated in the City’s World Cup watch parties, connecting with local soccer fans and promoting upcoming Monterey Bay FC matches. The City has returned that support on matchdays, with Seaside City Hall lighting up in Monterey Bay FC’s Crisp and Kelp colors following Club victories.
The partnership has also provided a platform for Monterey Bay FC to support Seaside’s local business community. Once each month, the Club recognizes a Seaside business as its Business of the Month, highlighting the business during a home match and promoting it to Monterey Bay FC fans.
The September 5 celebration carries particular significance for Seaside. Nearly half of the City’s population identifies as Hispanic or Latino, making Hispanic Heritage Month an opportunity to recognize the cultures, traditions and contributions that help define the community. The City also maintains an international sister-city relationship with Oaxaca de Juárez, Mexico, established through an agreement signed in September 2022.
Hispanic Heritage Night will bring that celebration to Cardinale Stadium with a matchday experience centered around culture and community, while also giving fans an opportunity to see Monterey Bay FC take on Phoenix Rising FC.

Hispanic Heritage Night kicks off at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, at Cardinale Stadium and will feature themed activations and entertainment for fans of all ages. Fans are invited to join Monterey Bay FC and the City of Seaside for an evening celebrating soccer, culture and the vibrant community the Club proudly calls home.
