Match Recap: Monterey Bay FC Earns Point Against Sacramento Republic FC
SEASIDE, California-Saturday, August 29, 2026–Monterey Bay FC earned a point at home after battling Sacramento Republic FC to a 1-1 draw at Cardinale Stadium. The Crisp-and-Kelp took the lead through Omari Glasgow in the 44th minute, but Sacramento found an equalizer late in the second half.
Glasgow opened the scoring just before halftime, heading home a cross from Fidel Barajas to give Monterey Bay a 1-0 advantage. Sacramento eventually found the equalizer in the 84th minute through Cal Jennings, leaving the two sides level at the final whistle.
The match also marked Judson’s first appearance at Cardinale Stadium for Monterey Bay FC. After returning to action, Judson was pleased with the reception from the supporters and his new teammates.
“I’m so happy, because a lot of time has passed and I have not played, but yeah, good fans, good team, so I hope I can help the club, so yeah, let’s go.”
Head Coach Alex Covelo was proud of the team’s performance and the opportunities created throughout the match.
“I think that the game, I only saw one team playing. But in opportunities, I do not remember one save from Jacob Jackson today… I am proud of the guys because it is not easy to come back after that number of games that we were not winning, with different difficult moments. And we must build from here.”
Glasgow, who scored his first goal of the match, was disappointed not to see Monterey Bay take all three points.
“It felt amazing, but it’s unfortunate we didn’t get a win and that’s all that matters.”
Monterey Bay FC will now look to build on the performance as the Crisp-and-Kelp continue their USL Championship campaign.
