Alex Dixon Named USL Championship Player of the Week

SEASIDE, Calif. (Tuesday, March 14, 2023) – Monterey Bay F.C. forward Alex Dixon has been named the USL Championship’s Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball for Week 1 of the 2023 season following a historic opening night display both for the Club and individually in the Crisp and Kelp’s 5-3 win over Hartford Athletic.

Dixon recorded his first career hat trick – the first hat trick in MBFC history – and in the process, scored the 49th, 50th and 51st career goals of his USL Championship career to move up currently into 19th all-time in league history, tied with former Monterey Bay F.C. forward Chris Cortez.

After signing with the Crisp and Kelp in December, Dixon earned the start in his debut for the Club on opening night and took all of one minute and 31 seconds to open his account and score his first goal – the fastest goal in MBFC history – on the way to a first half hat trick that had Monterey Bay F.C. out to a 4-2 lead at halftime. In addition, Dixon finished the night with an 88.2% passing accuracy and six duels won.
